Small acts that make a big difference

April 30, 2024

I was on the train to the city this morning, and it seemed to suddenly do a big shudder, while it was trundling along, at a super-fast speed.

I immediately heard my Personal Trainer’s voice in my head, ‘Brace your core‘. I did, feeling an immediate sense of stability. Gripping onto the rail for added support, I resisted the urge to shout to my fellow passengers, ‘Brace your core’ like an old-fashioned Drill Sergeant!

Any such random public announcement would also require a demonstration After all, not everyone may be familiar with the concept of core bracing. It’s simple. Just imagine pulling your belly button gently towards your spine.

At that moment, amidst the chaos of the speeding train, this small act made a world of difference. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the most effective solutions are the simplest ones. Right there under our noses—or in this case, at the center of our being.
