I was flying Qantas late on Friday evening, that last flight home to Melbourne. I’m unsure about you, but I can be a grumpy business traveller. A crew member was making standard safety announcements. He said, ‘We are going to dim the cabin lights for take-off and because it’s much more flattering for our crew’. Everyone laughed, and some people even cheered!
I laughed, and then I quickly wrote down what had just happened. It’s a story. I can figure out how to use it later (and hey, I just did). But if I don’t capture the story, I will forget it.
So, when my clients ask ‘How come you always have the perfect story for any message?’, I reply ‘Because I was born this way’. I wish – it’s because I capture my stories and have built a library of stories over time.
Now I want to gift you a mini library of stories. This is how it works:
- The mini library (14 individual stories) is on my website, so it’s easy and safe
- I have recorded each story as an audio file, click on any story to listen and yes it will work on most devices
- Each story is under 2 minutes, so short and sharp
- Some of the stories are marked as universal stories – you can use them as is. No need to credit anyone
- If you use the other stories, please credit the storyteller (mentioned in the story)
Now please check out your gift. I hope you like it.
I would love to know, what single feature would make this library more useful for you?
PS: I capture my stories using EverNote or good old pen and paper.
