Love conquers all

June 3, 2025

If you’ve ever fallen head over heels, had your heart broken, or whispered “yes” through tears, then you already know the truth behind today.

Love conquers all.

Today, June 3rd, is Love Conquers All Day. A quiet but powerful reminder that love, in all its forms, can overcome almost anything.

The phrase comes from the Roman poet Virgil, who wrote “Omnia vincit amor” more than 2,000 years ago. And while the world has changed, the idea still holds. Love gets us through grief. It bridges gaps. It fuels forgiveness, sacrifice, and second chances.

Love Conquers All Day was founded in the 1990s to honour that enduring truth: the strength of love to heal, to help, and to connect.

And love doesn’t have to be grand or romantic.
Love shows up when a friend cancels their plans to sit with you after a hard day.
When a parent stays up all night with a sick child.
When a stranger helps you carry your groceries.

So today, celebrate love.

Say the words.
Write the note.
Do the dishes without being asked.
Call your mum.
Put on those old love songs.

Or just pause and remember your firsts:
The first time you fell in love.
The first time somebody broke your heart.
The first time you said yes to a marriage proposal, your heart racing.

Those firsts? They’re the best stories we have. And they remind us why love, messy, mighty, everyday love still wins.

What’s your favourite love story or rom-com? I’d love to know.
